Jordi Boada, Co- Founder and Managing Partner

Jordi has a strong background in Trade and Investment Promotion, International Business Development and International Relations. He started his international business career in 1998 when he was posted to the Trade Commission of the Embassy of Spain in Prague as a market analyst assistant and later on as a foreign trade officer. From 2000 to 2003 he was director of Extenda in Prague, in charge of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in a joint venture by Erste Bank Ceska Sporitelna and ACE, Asesores de Comercio Exterior. In 2004 he joined MGS Communications a full service PR and marketing agency to lead the promotional efforts of the Spanish industry in the US and the Americas. In 2015 he co-founded BW Market Intelligence, a powerhouse in exports promotion and FDI generation. He has been director of Extenda Miami and country manager since 2004 and is currently the director of Andalucía TRADE in Miami.

Michael Wieting, Co- Founder and Managing Partner

Michael Wieting is a Business Development Executive with over 15 years of professional experience in the US market. From 2002 to 2008 he worked in the New York Metro Area as the Director of the Retail Division in the United States for a Spanish leading manufacturer of consumer products, and since 2008 he is the Director of Extenda in New York. Michael is highly skilled in sales and marketing strategies and has proven success in: Identifying market opportunities, developing new projects and delivering superior results. Building and maintaining relationships with key corporate decision makers. Establishing high profit accounts with excellent levels of retention and loyalty.

Itziar Gonzalez, Director Los Angeles Office

Itziar Gonzalez is a dynamic and proactive market analyst and trade and investment advisor, with experience in international environments in small and mid-size enterprises and corporations. She worked for the Spanish Trade Commission in Los Angeles, where she dealt with business relationships between Spain and the Western and Pacific States and had the opportunity to assist several companies from different industries in the internationalization process. Itziar is our director of the Los Angeles Office and currently leads all promotional efforts for Andalucía TRADE on the West coast of the United States, excelling in industries such as food and beverage, film location, entertainment, biotech, IT, Big Data, and AI among others. Itziar has recently accomplished another milestone with a Master in Big Data and AI at UCLA. Kudos to Itziar!

Mayte Cercas, VP of Business Development

Mayte has a large experience in international trade, market analysis and project management. With experience in different roles in small and medium sized companies and multinational corporate environments. She acquired a large market experience excelling at process management and customer service. Entering into the insurance business in the largest provider in Spain (Mapfre S.A), she moved into the USA as a market analyst and project coordinator for Thyssenkrupp Elevator before shifting from the elevator industry to the tile sector under Roca USA holding different positions in Logistics and Marketing. Her background and experience with Spanish companies in the USA makes her a great resource for the BW Market Intelligence team.

Alex has a wide experience in business development, client relations and project management.
With over ten years of experience in business development and office management, she specializes in identifying growth opportunities, building strong client relationships, and leading cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives.
Alexandra excels in managing projects from inception to completion and has a proven ability to enhance market presence, develop customized proposals, and lead competitive positioning efforts. In addition to her business development expertise, she demonstrates strong organizational leadership, team-building skills, and the ability to inspire a high-performance team culture. Her extensive international background and travel experiences have made her an adaptable and culturally aware professional, skilled at bridging gaps and fostering collaboration across global markets.
With strong communication skills and a focus on efficiency, she oversees team development, client service, and daily operational functions while continuously adapting to the evolving needs of international and multicultural markets.
